There are 18 Park and Ride (P+R) car parks on the outskirts that are linked to public transport - amounting to 3300 spaces in total for an urban area with almost 480,000 inhabitants (Source OFS). Two P+R are also Park & Bike ( Etoile and Geneve Plage). The idea of Park and Ride (Parking-Relais, in France) " is to provide a car park on the outskirts of a town and to encourage motorists to use public transport to access the town centre." (Source: Wikipedia).
One of Infomaniakís staff wanted to take advantage of the payment for buying a bike while it was impossible for him to make the journey each day to town without his car. He then joined in the P+R scheme and this way he can complete the intercity journey in his car as far as the P+R car park on the outskirts of Geneva, he uses his bike to get to the office, without any worries about city traffic.
